Change

Yeah, i am changing course's. Early this week i got a call from the pro from Carolina Country Club and he said i could get a better rate at their course than i could at river falls. I also figured ou that my speacial is not going to be able to make it, but his said and manager is. But he is sending shirts and golf balls signed with them.

What is Happening

Good news, have the course date set in stone at River Falls Plantation on March 9, 2011. I will start at 10 am and end by about 2:30. I will be servering lunch between the front nine and back nine. Also my flyers for my tournament for ads and for the tournament it self will be going out next week. Finally i still do not know about my special guest, but have been in contact with him.

Research

I am writing my senior project research paper on, should student college athletes be paid to play his or her sport. I have found that the average loss for one university football team a year is a little over 7.8 million dollars. This statistic shows that colleges would loss even more money if they pay their athletes to play. Also student athletes get enough benefits for playing in college already, like food, gas, hotel cost, and insurance. Student athletes should not get paid to play in college because universities already loss enough money from athletic programs a year, college athletes are student, not employees, and college althletes already recieve enough benefits other than scholarships.

Great News

Well got some great news this week. I have the course booked and i got it for a great price. It will be on March 9, 2011 and it will start at 10 am. Still don't know about my surprise guest, but know with the date set in stone, i will have a better chance for him coming. All of yall followers be praying for me.

Scored a Birdie

Well guys looks like a hit a hole in one with my mentor. His name you ask, Mr. Hinds. He is Oakbrook's new Headmaster and will be a great piece of my project. He is just as excited as i am about this project and he will give me great suggestions to me that will take this project to the next level.
Also i have set up a meeting with the Head Professional at River Falls to book the course, on either March 5, 2011 or March 26, 2011. It sounds like that everyone who commented back on last weeks post is just as excited as I am. That yall all again for your comments. They are much help.

My Plan!!!

Happy New School Year OPS family. Hope all of yall had a wonderful summer. Well my name is Andrew Walden Lacey the third and i am in twelth grade at Oakbrook Prep. I have been blessed to be attending here since the second grade, but can not wait to go to collage. So enough about me and more about my project that i hope to do.
Right now i am planning on doing a charity golf tournament to help Oakbrook Athletics. I would hold the golf tournament at River Fall Golf Course, home to the JV and Varsity Golf teams. I would hold the golf tournament in the late spring after the golf teams are finish with their seasons. I also would not just hosts the golf tournament for people to play in, but i would also sell ads for the tournament. These ads will costs more money than people probably want to buy, but it comes with great advertisement. The Ads would consist of a sign that would hang on a hole in the tournament, hang in Brad Thorne's golf clinic and also would hang in the school's gym for a whole year. The players and parents who play in this tournament along with ad sales would not only go to one specific area of athletics, it would be spread out evenly according to which sports needs the most. For example if the basketball team just got new uniforms last year, but the soccer team has not gotten new uniforms in 4 to 5 years well the soccer team has a greater needs for that than the basketball team does so the soccer team maybe get 30% of the profit the golf tournament makes while the basketball team may get 15%. Basically i am just going to set up a system of how the money will be distributed evenly and not to one individual sport.
So please board members of the Senior project board read over these post i post this school and i promise every last one of them will be very valuable in making my senior project a sucess.
